Fragrant Feathers

This time I felt like drawing nature again, and also i owed this to my mom for a while.... i guess i can consider it a early B day present for her. she seems to be quite happy with it and cant wait to frame it! ^_^

I must say i realy enjoyed sketching it and then shading it. it took about a day to compleet. 4 hours to sketch it, the rest of the day to shade of coures this was with breaks imbetween. Anyways i started with the bird or finch on top and worked my way down drawing the upper rose then to the midde to the oposite side eventually finishing the other flower and the bird. the original lines i used a regular #2 pencil, then i went back and used Derwent Grafic pencils to shade. The Degrees used: F, B,& 6B.

I dont draw nature too often so when i do i realy get into it. I used to draw animals all the time as a kid but lately ive been so focused on trying to draw mecha lately that i forgot how much i enjoy this.
